Christmas tree!

I am in love with my tree this year! Here is a glimpse, but I will post more right before Christmas!!

Natchitoches Christmas Lights!

Ohh my goodness! It was wonderful! Once we moved to Texas we kept hearing about the Marshall Christmas lights! They were even featured on Good Morning America! So, of course we had to go. It only takes about 10 minutes to get there from where we lived. Ahh, we were home in 30 minutes. It was not that great! Not even for a 10 minute trip!

Once we moved to Shreveport, we heard about the Natchitoches Christmas Lights! We brushed it off! Everyone said you have to go! So, we made the reservations. It is about an hour from our house. Jillian was in a bad mood, I was tired, and Andrew doesn't exactly get excited about Christmas lights anyway! We almost didn't go! But, it is where they filmed Steel Magnolias, so I was ready!

It was amazing! The lights were pretty good, but it is the atmosphere! Downtown is on one side of the road and there is a river on the other! Lights filled the banks, they had live music, people dancing in the street, and you could smell the cajun food miles away! Andrew was in heaven! There were thousands of people there! WE took our seat for the fireworks display. We thought it would last about 10 minutes! It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! They had them off the bridge, in the water, in the sky, on the ground! It was awesome. Andrew, who thinks fireworks are overrated, said he thought it was the best thing he had ever seen! And I saw the house where the movie was filmed!

Jillian ate alligator bites for dinner, I had fried green tomatoes and meat pies, and Andrew had crawfish boudan (spelling??)! So, I guess we are officially Cajuns from Louisiana!

Twelve Oaks Christmas Tree Lighting!

In our new subdivision, they have a tree that they decorate each year. We have a little party and light the tree! It was really fun other than the fact of Santa being there! We made an ornament, roasted marshmallows, played on the big blow up slide, and drank hot chocolate!

Circus!

Well, this is how the story goes! Way back in August I got an email that the circus would be in Shreveport in November. We decided we would get tickets! Evidentially, I got to order early, because we were front and center! I mean front and center! ABout 10 minutes into the circus, a performer comes up to Andrew and makes him volunteer! Yes, Andrew has somewhat joined the circus! Take a look at the pictures, and see what you think! When he got done, he made a few comments about how he was so mad! Once we got into the car, Jillian said, "Andrew, you shouldn't be so mad at yourself... you did really good! You should be proud!" Needless to say, I had a blast!

The Green Pumpkin Jillian Highfill

Well, since we watched "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown", I thought we would steal the idea. We went to the Pumpkin Patch in Dixie, Louisiana a few weekends ago. Jillian picked out the "Green" pumpkin, and wouldn't take no for an answer! She is pretty heartbroken now considering that the pumpkin is now turning orange! I admire her for taking her own path! (Not that I think it would be any different!! haha) enjoy!

Big Trouble!

We had some family pictures and Jillian wanted hers taken in front of the Harley! It is making me a little bit nervous!

Texas State Fair

Well, we were supposed to go to the zoo, but my sisters talked me into heading to the fair!! I think, I know, it was a great move! Jillian had soooooo much fun! And if I could have taken the puppy in the backpack, he would have been ours! He was too cute! Hope you enjoy!

New House Pictures

We closed on the house last Friday! We are very excited about moving! Jillian is excited because they left the swing set in the back! Her room will be right next to the baby's room! She says she is going to do all the work since she is the closest. If only that would be true!! Andrew made fun of me for decorating the outside even though we haven't moved in!! Oh well, I want them to know we will be festive neighbors!!

Picture Day at school!

We of course had to take our own picture before pictures at school the same day! Nelson was so excited!

Hallsville Western Days!

We went to our last big event in Hallsville! Western Days are filled with horses, Jillian's favorite thing! We also filled our gallon zip-lock bag full of candy! (No buying Halloween candy for me!!) We had fun until Andrew decided to drag us to the Civil War Reenactment. It did not turn out good! We brought along our chairs, drinks, candy, bug spray, etc. on the half of a mile hike uphill to the grounds! Then, we got in to find out that you did not need any of the above because you could not see anything even if you were standing up! We couldn't warn Jillian when the cannon was going to go off since we couldn't see anything. She started yelling, crying, shaking, begging please can we leave. Pour thing was still shaking when we got back to the car. We only stayed for 10 minutes! But overall we had a great weekend at home!

Disney trip!

Papaw this is for you!!

Jillian got to go to Disney with the Highfill's! She had so much fun! These are the only pictures I have so far, but they promise to give me more soon! Jillian got to dress up as Cinderella!

Jillian's first day of "Pre-K"!

Look at the excitement!

Well, now days your 4 year old is obviously way smarter than I am now, so I was quickly informed... Last year was preschool and this year is "Pre-K"! There is a big, HUGE, difference in the two. So big in fact, that we cannot even mutter the words preschool unless we are talking about the past! And guess what else went out last year, bows! Who knew? So you will see her beautiful hair... bowless!!

Cruise to Mexico!

I am really behind! My niece turned 18, so we went on a cruise to Mexico! Needless to say we had lots of fun! Especially watch the new 18 year old act like she was 21!!
